Our Vision

At Surrey Hills we are keen to develop our PE and Sport to an excellent standard whilst covering a diverse range of activities. The PE and Sports Funding will enable us to ensure this is developed and maintained.

Our partnership and school audit of PE has identified the need to develop sporting opportunities for Key Stage 2; this includes resources to aid teaching and learning throughout the key stages but particularly focusing on the new opportunities offered for Key Stage 2.

The audit particularly identified a need to develop active play at lunchtimes so this year we are focusing on training play leaders and lunchtime supervisors as well as developing zoned areas for our lunchtime playground.

 Primary PE and Sport Funding

  • A Sport Premium will be paid directly to primary schools.
  • Surrey Hills will receive a lump sum of £8000 plus a premium of £5 per pupil per annum.
  • The funding will be ring fenced and surveyed by Ofsted at the end of the first year.
  • All schools will be required to report their PE and Sport Vision on their school website
  • Please see separate District Sports Events information sheet for future fixtures

With some of the funding the Primary and Infant schools in Dorking have employed a School Sports Coordinator for 2 days a week for schools to work collaboratively on shared priorities to develop a sustainable long term structure; for more details go to
